Description

The Z573M gas discharge indicators are used in calculating and solving devices, in various measuring instruments and other discrete-action equipment, for visual representation of output data.

Displayed symbols: 0..9 and “dot” . Symbol height: 13mm (0.51″). Dimensions: Ø19 mm × 47.5 mm.

Equivalent to indicator tubes: IN-14, IN-8, IN-8-2, Z570M.

Technical specifications:

Voltage:

  • Power supply – at least: 200V
  • Occurrence of discharge – no more than: 170V
  • Maintaining the discharge – no more than: 140V

Working current:

  • Constant – from 2mA to 2.5mA
  • When powered from a pulsating voltage source with a frequency of 50Hz: 1mA
  • Indication current is not more than: 2.5mA
  • Brightness  is at least: 100cd/m²

Cathode driver: 74141 or K155ID1 high-voltage BCD decoder (converts 4-bit input to one of 10 cathodes). Anode driver: High-voltage transistors such as MPSA42 (NPN) and MPSA92 (PNP) for switching the high-voltage supply. Practical current limiting: For a 170..180V supply driving Z573M at 2..2.5 mA, use a 10..12kOhm anode resistor . This should be verified by actual measurement for your specific circuit and desired brightness.

  • Product service life: Nixie tubes operated at steady drive current typically last 5,000–10,000 hours of active display time.

    Great service and excellent tubes! I had no difficulty in cleaning off the red lacquer by soaking the tubes in warm soapy water (I left the little bit of red on the top glass seal). I then soldered each of the 6 tubes I bought to the PCB headers that fit my Nixie clock and they all work beautifully. I am very happy with them.
