Kenotron 5C9S is intended for rectification of alternating voltage of industrial frequency.
It is used in rectifying devices of special and measuring equipment. Indirectly heated oxide cathode. Works in any position.
5 – a number indicating the rounded value of the tube filament voltage in volts
C – a letter that determines the type of tube: C – low-power kenotron
9 – the number of the serial number of the development of this type of tube
S – a letter characterizing the design.
